The Covid-19 pandemic struck India in mid February 2020 and the nation went into lockdown on 21 March 2020. Things quite looked up from January 2021 but once again the virus took over and the country was again under lockdown due to the second wave of the corona virus.
The second wave was vicious and the nation witnessed deaths in lakhs. The virus was at it’s in May 2021. Things started to settle down slowly after that.
Due to the promising vaccination drive that took place things are under control right now. 33 crore people are fully vaccinated and 77% of the population got the first dose. The vaccination programme is pacing up day by day.
Almost 15,021 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have recovered is 3,36,83,581.
India recorded 10 thousand plus cases in the last 24 hours all over the country which is the lowest registered cases from the past 250 days. The total active cases across the nation is reported to be 1,53,776 which is lowest in 250 days. The weekly positive date is even less than 2 percent which is the lowest in the past two months.
Due to low surge in the COVID-19 cases almost every states have given the order to open the offline mode of education almost after one and half year.
Whereas, in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh etc the schools were reopened from the month of September. On the other hand states like West Bengal, Haryana etc are reopening colleges and schools in November.
Even though there is decline in cases but virus has not left us completely and proper COVID-19 protocols must be followed during the festive season.
