Hard drive also known as hard disk is a component that is used to store our digital content like images, videos ,documents etc. Hard drive is an important part of any computer or laptop because it is where all your data is stored.

Our computers will be useless without a hard drive. We won’t ever be able to save any file or download file. We won’t be able to boot up the computer.
If the health of the hard drive is not tested on time and considerable measures are not taken it can lead to the permanent damage of the hard drive due to development of bad sectors.

3. One can also use a programme called “CrystalDiskInfo”. This software will continuously check the health of your hard drive and give you a lot of information about your hard drive.
To download this software go to “crystalmark.info” then download “CrystalDiskInfo Standard edition “. Once the file is downloaded, open the file and follow the simple instructions to “install” it.
Once the software is installed, you can open it and see the health of your drive. The software shows the drive’s health status, temperature, number of hours the drive has been powered on and many more things.
You can check on the status of all your drives by clicking on it’s tab.
If the health of the drive is not good it will be indicated in the health status of the drive and briefly below the columns given.
If there is a ” blue ” dot next to the columns the drive is completely fine.
If it indicates a “yellow ” dot that is a caution sign and you have plenty of time to fix it and backup your hard drive.
But if any of the columns indicate “red” dot it means you immediately need to take a backup.
Keeping a check to maintain the health of the hard drive is necessary as you do not want to lose all your files, images, videos and other things that are stored over years.
